In the evening enjoy an evening cruise to illuminated Pont d'Avignon.
Avignon - walking tour and Papal Palace or Tastes of Avignon or Avignon bike tour ***** Pont du Gard
Depending on your interests, you have choices of excursions for the morning.
Avignon, aptly named the "City of Popes," was the center of the Catholic Church in the 14th century. This tour includes the Papal Palace and the well-preserved medieval walks surrounding the historic center of town, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
You can visit three venues around Avignon to taste regional specialities including macarons, cheese and wine, and tapenades.

Viviers - Grignan excursion and Truffle Farm
In Grignan, an enchanting Provencal town, you can go in search of the highly prized "Black Diamond" truffles with a farmer and his trustworthy canine companion.
Tournon - Exclusive private steam train ride or Red wine & Chocolate tasting and Vienne - Evening jazz performance
Take an exclusive private train ride past magnificient landscapes carved alone the Gorge du Doux, stopping at the charming little state of Colombier le Viux-Saint Barthelemy le Plain. Alternatively, lovers of wine and chocolate will want to visit Le Chateau de Tournon for a presentation and tasting on the pairing of red wine and chocolate.
Later in the day cruise to Vienne

Vienne - Footsteps of Ancient Romans or Mount Pipet hike & Lyon - Lyon city tour
Situated between the wine regions of Beaujolais and Cotes du Rhone lies Vienne with a Roman past that can be seen in it marvelously preserved ruins. Follow the footsteps of the ancient Romans.
For those wishing to be more active, you can either take a guided hike from the ship to the Monastery at Mount Pipet or a guided bike tour along a portion of the ViaRhona bike route.
Later in the day cruise to Lyon
Discover dynamic Lyon, starting in Fourviere Hill. Continue on to the old town of Lyon, followed by a guided walk through the St. Jean district, where you be introduced to the city's unique covered walkways, known as "traboules."

I have never been out of the country, I wouldn't even know where to start. No worries! We can map it out for you and help you along the way. It is MUCH easier than you think.
I don’t know about traveling with people I don’t know. Oh! This is easy! We will host a pre-retreat call so that we can all connect and get comfortable with each other!
Do I have to participate in all of the activities? Of course not! Each activity has been selected and arranged with the larger mission in mind, which is to acquaint you with river cruising and learning all about France. However, you can opt-out of any experience. (Please note however, there will not be any monetary credits made for opting out in scheduled activities). In addition, keep in mind that there will be time for rest and rejuvenation built into the itinerary. But please know, you always have the option of creating your own experience and relaxing in your room.
Can I stay longer? If you are looking to extend your stay on either end of your trip we are happy to offer suggestions and recommendations!
Will I need a passport? Yes you will.
