Prior to take off we will have a Bon Voyage get together (may be virtual) that will set you on the right track for preparing for your trip!
I have never been on a cruise, I wouldn't even know where to start. No worries! We can provide all the information you will need as a first time cruiser.
I don’t know about traveling with people I don’t know. Oh! This is easy! We will host a pre-cruise call so that we can all connect and get comfortable with each other!
Do I have to participate in all of the activities? Of course not! Each private event has been arranged. However, you can opt-out of any event. (Please note however, there will not be any monetary credits made for opting out in scheduled event).
Can I stay longer? If you are looking to extend your stay on either end of your trip we are happy to offer suggestions and recommendations!
What type of identification will I need? Sea Travel (for U.S. and Canadian citizens only). For voyages that begin and end in the same U.S. Port, U.S. citizens may travel with both a Government-issued birth certificate** and Government-issued picture ID card, such as a driver’s license.
**A ‘birth certificate’ is issued by a government agency (state, county, city, etc.). This document (with seal and signature) is legal proof of citizenship that can be used by U.S. citizens for certain international travel. A ‘birth notice’ is issued by a hospital or other type of medical facility but it is not an approved travel document. It is a courtesy document that merely indicates where a birth occurred. It has no legal status and cannot be used to prove citizenship for international travel purposes.
Will I need a passport? We strongly recommend that all guests travel with a valid passport with at least six (6) months validity during their cruise. This greatly assists guests who may need to fly out of the U.S. to meet their ship at the next available port should they miss their scheduled embarkation in a U.S. port; guests entering the U.S. at the end of their cruise; and guests needing to fly to the U.S. before their cruise ends because of medical, family, personal or business emergencies, missing a ship’s departure from a port of call, involuntary disembarkation from a ship due to misconduct, or other reasons.
Guests who need to fly to the United States before their cruise ends will likely experience significant delays and complications related to booking airline tickets and entering the United States if they do not have a valid U.S. passport with them.
Will I need a REAL ID card? Yes, you will need a REAL ID card to fly within the United States. The deadline for this requirement is May 7, 2025. After this date, every air traveler 18 years of age and older will need a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or another acceptable form of identification to fly within the U.S. If you don't have a REAL ID, you can use a U.S. passport or other federally approved identification instead.
It's a good idea to check with your state's Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to understand the specific requirements and process for obtaining a REAL ID.
How do I book excursions? We can help you with this. Tour excursion costs are not included in the total costs. Group tour excursions may be offered for this cruise.
What will I need to know about booking my room if I have a roommate? If you are booking a double occupancy stateroom, please read the following information regarding roommate reservations:
If you and your roommate(s) will be paying separate deposits, your reservation cannot be completed until all roommate deposits are received. If your roommate is unknown at the time of booking, your reservation will be booked as a single-occupancy of a double cabin and you will be charged accordingly. A single supplement fee will apply. A fee for changes will apply if adding a new roommate to your cabin after 15 days of the original reservation date. (Refer to "Fee for Changes" paragraph.)
Who can I talk to, I have more questions? We are always happy to jump on a call and speak with you! In fact we would LOVE it! Just email hello@tilliejamestravel.com and we will get a call set up right away for you! Or call us at 804.997.9460.
You will return home with new friends and memories that will truly last a lifetime.
