Is this trip physically demanding? This tour is designed for travelers with moderate mobility. Activities include walking, standing at historic sites, and navigating uneven surfaces at castles and heritage locations. There are no extreme hikes or strenuous activities, and downtime is built into the itinerary.
Do I need a visa or vaccinations? Yes. A visa is required for U.S. passport holders, and Yellow Fever vaccination is mandatory for entry into Ghana. Visa assistance and pre-departure guidance are included, and we’ll walk you through each step well in advance.
What airport should I fly into? You will fly into Kotoka International Airport (ACC) in Accra, Ghana. Once registered, you’ll receive recommended flight guidance and arrival instructions to coordinate with group transfers.
Can I make payments instead of paying all at once? Yes. Installment plans are required after your initial deposit, making it easier to plan and budget for this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
What should I wear? Comfortable, breathable clothing is recommended. Modest attire is required at heritage sites and ceremonies. You’ll also have opportunities to purchase African prints and have garments custom-made while in Ghana.
Will this trip be emotionally intense? For many travelers, yes - and intentionally so. Visiting slave dungeons and remembrance sites can be deeply moving. We approach these experiences with care, education, and space for reflection, ensuring the journey is respectful, supportive, and healing.
Is this a sightseeing tour or a cultural experience? This is a heritage and cultural immersion journey, not a rushed sightseeing trip. The focus is on connection, understanding, and meaningful experiences rather than checking off landmarks.
I don’t know about traveling with people I don’t know. Expect to make new friends.
Do I have to participate in all of the activities? Of course not! Each activity has been selected and arranged with the larger mission in mind, which is to acquaint you with Ghana. However, you can opt-out of any experience. (Please note however, there will not be any monetary credits made for opting out in scheduled activities). In addition, keep in mind that there will be time for rest and rejuvenation built into the itinerary.
Is travel insurance required? Strongly recommended to protect your investment.
